BETH YDY'R SIARTER IAITH?

Nod y Siarter Iaith yw ysbrydoli plant a phobl ifanc i ddefnyddio'r Gymraeg ym mhob agwedd ar eu bywydau. Mae cyfathrebu yn rhan bwysig o fywyd cyfoes - mae tyfu fyny yn ddwyieithog yn golygu bydd plant yn datblygu sgiliau bywyd.

WHAT IS THE LANGUAGE CHARTER?

The aim of the Siarter Iaith is to inspire children and young people to use Welsh in all aspects of their lives. Communication is at the heart of modern life – growing up bilingual meant that children will be developing skills for life.

Bydd pob ysgol, waeth beth fo'u natur ieithyddol, yn gweithio o fewn yr un fframwaith i gyflawni'r nod o sicrhau bod dysgwyr:

yn hyderus wrth ddefnyddio eu sgiliau iaith Gymraeg
meithrin agweddau cadarnhaol tuag at yr iaith
cynyddu'r defnydd o'r iaith y tu mewn a'r tu allan i'r ysgol.

All schools, regardless of their linguistic nature, will work within the same framework to achieve the aim of ensuring that learners:

are confident in using their Welsh language skills
foster positive attitudes towards the language
increase the use of the language inside and outside the school.

SUT MAE'N GWEITHIO?

Fel rhan o'r Siarter, mae pob ysgol unigol yn cwblhau holiadur i bennu'r defnydd iaith cyfredol cyn datblygu cynllun gweithredu i weithio tuag at wobr efydd, arian neu aur. Mae'n annog cyfranogiad gan bob aelod o gymuned yr ysgol - disgyblion, rhieni, llywodraethwyr ysgol a'r gymuned ehangach.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

As part of the Charter, each individual school completes a baseline exercise to determine current language use before developing an action plan to work towards a bronze, silver or gold award. It encourages participation from every member of the school community - pupils, parents, school governors and the wider community.

Masgotiaid Siarter Iaith yw Seren a Sbarc. Gellir dod o hyd i'r ddau arwr hyn ar amrywiaeth o bosteri, llyfrau ac ati yn y maes chwarae, gartref a'r ystafell ddosbarth i annog plant i ddefnyddio'r Gymraeg. Mae gan y rhai hyd yn oed eu cân eu hunain y gallwch chi ei dysgu isod.

WHO IS
SEREN AND SBARC?

Seren and Sbarc are the Siarter Iaith mascots. These two heroes can be found on a variety of posters, books etc in the playground, at home and the classroom to encourage children to use Welsh. The even have their own song that you can learn below.
